ZARIFAH ZAKRIA
Head Programmer
Ngee Ann Polytechnic
Muslim Students' Society
As a Head Programmer, I have planned, executed, and oversee 9 different events. In addition, some events require the team to collaborate and invite external vendors such as guest speakers and other schools.
In the month of Ramadan, my team and I planned 4 different events each week throughout the month as we focus on different topics, which benefitted the local community and received around 30 positive feedbacks. Besides that, I invited and liaised with different guest speakers, which allowed me to gain negotiation skills. The intense planning throughout the month enables me to also gain a high level of leadership skills and teamwork while working with others and stepping up as a leader. The team too planned the Hari Raya celebration, whereby there are different games related to the celebration.
Staff Sergeant
New Town Secondary School
National Police Cadet Corps
As a committee member who holds a Staff Sergeant rank, I planned and executed weekly training for around 30 cadets and occasional camps. I create weekly proposals to ensure that the training meets the goals for the week. With this, I managed to gain program planning skills, confidence when taking lead and in training executions, and the ability to commit to tasks given.
I participated in the Uniform Group Exposure Programmer - NPCC Planning Committee, whereby my fellow cadets and I were given the opportunity to plan for events, enabling us to gain planning skills while creating a positive environment, especially on how one can work under pressure. I managed to work with cadets from other schools which allowed me to widen my network.
Aesthetic Ambassador
New Town Secondary School
As an Aesthetic Ambassador, I planned and executed workshops that promote art while gaining creative skills. Along with my team, we did workshops such as creating one own's designs with the materials provided, which allows students to be creative and create a work of their own.
